Mohawk, MI – A devastating rollover accident early this morning has claimed the life of a 50-year-old Mohawk man. Reports indicate that the individual succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash. The Keweenaw County Sheriff’s Office received an emergency call at 2:10 a.m. regarding a single-vehicle rollover incident, with the driver trapped inside. The accident unfolded as the driver was traveling northbound on US 41.
Tragically, the vehicle lost control, crossed the center line, and ultimately overturned, coming to a rest against an unoccupied residence. Quick response efforts led to the successful extraction of the driver from the vehicle, who was then rushed to UP Health Systems Portage for medical attention.
