Joecy Padavic Obituary: 15-year-old girl loss her life in car crash in Benton, Illinois

Joecy James Padavic, a vibrant 15-year-old from Benton, Illinois, was tragically taken from this world on September 16, 2023, due to injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. Born on May 4, 2008, in Carbondale, Illinois, Joecy was the beloved daughter of Jeff Padavic and Stacy (Golliher) Padavic.

Joecy, along with two other students—16-year-old Landen Agnitsch and 17-year-old Bradley Williams—of Benton High School, lost their lives in a devastating single-vehicle accident on Benton Field Road south of Benton. The community mourns the loss of these young souls.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 21, 2023, at the Benton Civic Center, 414 West Hudelson Street, Benton, Illinois, with Pastor Jesse Hinds officiating. Burial will follow in the Masonic & Odd Fellows Cemetery of Benton. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Benton Civic Center.

As a sophomore at Benton Consolidated High School, Joecy was a former cheerleader, spreading joy and enthusiasm wherever she went. Her family fondly remembers her love for taking selfies, dancing, singing, spending quality time with friends, and relishing beach days in Panama City, Florida. She eagerly looked forward to the day she could obtain her driver’s license, embracing the freedom it would bring.

She leaves behind her loving mother, Stacy Golliher Padavic, and her doting father, Jeff Padavic. Joecy is also survived by her siblings, Tyler Golliher and Seth Padavic, all of Benton, along with her grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and numerous extended family members and friends who cherished her.

Joecy was preceded in death by her grandpa Joe Padavic, and great-grandparents, leaving a void in the hearts of those who loved her dearly.
