Elkins Park, PA – The community of Elkins Park, Pennsylvania, is grieving the loss of Barry Magen, the esteemed owner of Rosenstein Arts, whose passing was announced through a heartfelt social media tribute. Described as a friend, mentor, and influential figure, his memory is celebrated as a lasting blessing for his family and the countless individuals who cherished his friendship and were positively impacted by his presence.
Barry Magen, a native of Laverock, Pennsylvania, and a graduate of Springfield High School in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, had pursued his studies in Psychobiology at Albright College from 1975 to 1979. His professional journey led him to work at USCJ before eventually becoming the owner of Rosenstein Arts.

In 2003, Barry partnered with Jewish artist Mordechai Rosenstein, collaborating on various artistic ventures. Together, they created unique lines of gifts cherished by many, serving as proud displays in homes and offices. Barry was known for his dedicated presence at the Rosenstein Gallery, collaborating with synagogues, organizations, and the public.
He was a cherished father to Jonathan and Ari Magen and a doting grandfather to Bea Magen. Barry was formerly married to Cheryl Magen and was the brother of Barbara Magen Jerome. His impact extended far beyond his family, as he touched the lives of countless individuals through his generosity, leadership in the Jewish community, and dedication to organizations like United Synagogue Youth and Camp Ramah in the Poconos.
Barry’s warmth, humor, passion for Broadway musicals, and culinary skills left an indelible mark on all who knew him. His unexpected departure is deeply felt by the community he embraced.
The family has announced that a Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, November 30th, 2023, promptly at 3 pm at Beth Sholom Congregation, 8231 Old York Road, Elkins Park, PA 19027, following a private interment. Barry Magen’s obituary and further details about funeral arrangements will honor his life and legacy, allowing those who cherished him to bid a final farewell.
