A devastating incident shook the Eatonville community on Monday, October 23, 2023, as 16-year-old Jason Naro met an untimely demise in a heart-wrenching road accident near the area. The young boy was driving a pickup truck that tragically veered off the road, colliding with a large tree, leading to the community’s overwhelming grief.
Evergreen Bass Club posted on Facebook,
“We lost one of our own Tragically this week. Though I don’t have much in the way of details Jason Naro succumbed to injuries from the result of a traffic accident. Jason was one of our High School Anglers from the Eatonville area. Taken way too early. Members of Evergreen Bass Club are saddened by the news and our hearts and prayers go out to family and friends of Jason’s.There are no words that we can offer to soften the pain but as the President of the Club I want everyone to know that he was a fine young man and he will be missed”
Emergency responders from the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department rushed to the scene on Webster Road East to rescue Jason, an Eatonville High School student with deep roots in the community. Despite their valiant efforts, the young boy was pronounced dead upon reaching Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup, leaving the community in a state of profound sadness.
Jason Naro was an active participant in the High School Anglers group, representing the Eatonville area, and his passing has left an irreplaceable void within the Evergreen Bass Club and the Washington State Bass Federation. The community has come together to organize a memorial vigil on Monday, 10/30/23, at the EHS football field, open to all who wish to pay their respects and support Jason’s grieving family and friends during this difficult time.
