Naperville, Illinois – The Naperville community is in mourning following the sudden and heartbreaking demise of James Wettlaufer, affectionately known as Jimmy or Jim Wettlaufer. The 22-year-old, a dedicated student at Western Michigan University and a beloved member of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity, passed away over the weekend in a tragic incident, leaving his family, friends, and fellow students devastated.
James, a graduate of Neuqua Valley High School in Naperville, Illinois, was not only a dedicated student but also a talented athlete. He was a valued teammate of the Western Michigan Broncos football team, embodying the spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie.
The Western Michigan University Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity expressed their grief, stating, “We are extremely saddened by the tragic loss of our brother James Wettlaufer this past weekend. James, better known as Jim, was a joyous, charismatic, and loving person that will be sorely missed. The brothers of our chapter will remember him as an exceptional leader and a shining precedent for all our members. Jim will forever be remembered for the little things such as his love for music, playing guitar, or making everyone laugh at a moment’s notice. But more importantly, always putting everyone else’s needs above his own. Jim, we hope you know how much you were beloved by every member of our chapter and how much we will miss you.
