“Sam Borgia and I are deeply saddened by the loss of our dear friend and master photographer James Schmelzer. Jim has been my buddy since I was a waitress at Penna’s when I was 17 and was the first one to show me the wedding ropes as we did events together time and again. We ate at many a vendor table together over the years, Jim always came to see me perform, and was our only photographer for every occasion both in our family and at Verona. Jim was always there, for everyone. We are in complete shock and cannot believe this heartbreaking news. I know you loved Jesus, Jim and we will see you again. In the meantime, we all grieve for you, gone too soon. Deepest condolences to all of your family and friends, we will miss you and it will not be the same without you. May the Lord be near to all of us who are broken-hearted. Just a few weeks ago, you asked me to play your favorite song “Questo Piccolo Grande Amore” – This Little Great Love, that we all had for you Jim.”
