James Lasher passes away in car accident in Scott County Underwood

Underwood, Indiana, is in mourning following the tragic passing of James Lasher, a 48-year-old resident, who lost his life in a single-vehicle accident on Tuesday. The incident occurred on South Boatman Road, south of West Lake Road, and unfolded when an automated alert from an Apple Watch caught the attention of authorities, leading to a rapid response by law enforcement and emergency services.

Sergeant Tracy Spencer of the Sellersburg Post provided details of the accident, stating that a gray 2014 Chevrolet Cruze, driven by Lasher, was traveling southbound on Boatman Road. For reasons yet unknown, the vehicle veered off course, crossed the northbound lane, and collided with a tree on the east side of the road. Despite immediate medical attention, Lasher did not respond to the efforts of medical personnel and was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival at Scott County Memorial Hospital.

Janette Gamble-Coulter shared a post on fb on the death of James Lasher:

I am so terribly numb and devastated. Last night we lost an amazing friend, riding buddy and barn buddy 💔 It doesn’t seem real. We were just joking about me being overdressed for the cold Monday. We were always teasing and joking with each other. You were loved by so many of our riders and parents. You were always in the lessons helping, taking care of the herd or talking with parents. The barn will not be the same without your presence James Lasher! Please lift Martha Wehrle Lasher and his family up in prayer during this time of loss. Life is so unfair 😭Here’s a meal train link for the family if anyone would like to help 👇https://mealtrain.com/kkqvrz
