Jaafar Jackson, Michael Jackson’s grandson, has been confirmed to play the late pop icon in the upcoming biopic, Michael. Michael’s mother, Katherine, also praised Jaafar, calling him “the embodiment” of her son. She continued to say:
“It’s great to see him continuing the Jackson legacy of artists and performers.”
Graham King, the film’s producer, revealed that he met Jaafar two years ago and was impressed by the way he displayed Michael’s energy and charisma. King continued:
“It was something so powerful that even after doing a global search, it was clear that he was the only individual to take up the job. I’m so glad he agreed to play my uncle, and I can’t wait for the world to see him on the big screen as Michael Jackson.”
Antoine Fuqua, the film’s director, expressed excitement to see Jaafar play Michael. He went on to say that during their first meeting he had a spiritual connection with Jaafar and that the actor always performed brilliantly in front of the camera.
