Xolani Khumalo, a prominent tech leader and host of the program Sizokuthola, has been making headlines and gaining attention on the web due to recent arrest news. However, it’s important to clarify that Xolani Khumalo is not dead; rather, his name has been linked to the death of a suspected drug dealer, Robert “Kicks” Varrie.
The incident took place when the crew from Moja Love, the channel associated with Xolani Khumalo’s show, was present during the questioning of the deceased at a house in Katlehong. Law enforcement officers were also present during this operation, and Moja Love clarified that everything was conducted within the bounds of the law. The channel mentioned that they hand over suspects to the police if identified as drug sellers and are willing to cooperate with any investigation.
As per the reporter, Xolani Khumalo and his team were questioning Robert “Kicks” Varrie based on a tip they received. Varrie’s girlfriend, Eunice Raadt, who shared custody of their two children with him, was not present during the incident. She mentioned that she noticed Xolani Khumalo from the show Sizokuthola along with an entourage of vehicles passing by while she was visiting a neighboring hair salon.
According to Raadt, she later found her partner Varrie on the ground with his pants down and underwear damp. The team allegedly discovered two sachets of cocaine and demanded more from him. The situation escalated, and Varrie was suffocated with a plastic bag after being pepper-sprayed. However, there are concerns that the crew did not follow due process and may have acted excessively, leading to potential issues with the cases in court.
Despite this, the article reports that the TV station management did not cooperate with the police in following due process during some raids. At the time of writing the article, there was no official comment from the national police spokesman about whether the TV channel was collaborating with the police on the broadcast.
It’s crucial to await further updates on the situation and rely on official statements for accurate information regarding the ongoing investigation.
