In a distressing development, the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) have officially confirmed the identity of the woman featured in a disturbing video released by Hamas as their soldier—Noa Marciano. Hamas’s military wing, the Al Qassam Brigade, has claimed responsibility for Marciano’s death, attributing it to an Israeli air raid over Gaza on November 9th. The authenticity of her statements remains unclear, as she appears to read from a prepared text at certain points.
Marciano’s personal background, briefly outlined in the video, reveals she is a resident of Modi’in, of Moroccan heritage, situated between Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. The IDF has dispatched officers to communicate with Marciano’s family, expressing deep sympathy and reiterating their commitment to repatriating abducted individuals.
