Harjinder Kaur Age & Early Life
Harjinder Kaur was born on 14th October 1996, in the hamlet of Mehas in the district of Patiala, Punjab. She finished her schooling in Punjab while residing in the hamlet of Mehas. She attended Nabha’s Government School, which was close to her village.
She then continued her education at SGTB Khalsa College in Anandpur Sahib. Harjinder is now 25 years old. It took some time for Harjinder’s instructor, Mr. Paramjeet Sharma, to persuade her to start weightlifting. In 2016, she attended a Kabaddi camp at Punjab University. Parmjeet Sharma, the weightlifting coach at Punjabi University, recognized her strength. He suggested she try weightlifting. After some time, Harjinder began her training.

Career
Harjinder Kaur began following in the footsteps of her mentor, Paramjeet Sharma, by competing in tug-of-war competitions. Tug of War is a game of strength in which a rope is tugged. She won the tug-of-war and gave her all in the game. Paramjeet Sharma saw her power and encouraged her to continue her weightlifting profession. She started her weightlifting career when she was a teenager. Harjinder had previously studied Kabaddi with her instructor, Surinder Singh.
In 2016, she competed in her first weightlifting tournament. She won her maiden gold medal during the 2017 Women Inter-State National Weightlifting Championship in Kolkata. She was awarded a bronze medal in the 35th Women Senior National Weightlifting Championship. She has won several additional medals over her career, which we have listed here.
