KPS wants to extend our condolences to Hadley’s family. Please keep Hadley and her family in your thoughts and prayers, and reflect on the importance of being a family; of being a friend. At this time everyone needs a family and a friend. Hadley is our family and our friend.”

“Good afternoon, this is Richard Akin, Sperry High School Athletic Director. Shortly after winning their Softball Super Regional tournament, Hadley Wood who was a member of the Kiefer softball team and her father were involved in an automobile accident on their way back from the game. Tragically she succumbed to her injuries. We are playing Kiefer tonight in football and to show our support of their school and community, Mr. Shaw our former Sperry HS principal who is now the Kiefer Superintendent has asked that all fans wear purple in honor of Hadley. There will be no admission cost to get into the game but Mr. Shaw stated that donations will be taken at the gate and all proceeds will go to the Wood’s family. If you are unable to go to the game tonight but would like to make a donation to the family, you can bring it up to the High School and I will make sure it is given to Mr. Shaw tonight. Unfortunately, our small town of Sperry America has been stricken with tragedy too many times but we always pull together to help out those in need. Now Pirate nation, we have the opportunity to help the community of Kiefer. Please help us make Sperry proud with your support of Hadley’s family and the community of Kiefer.Thank you for your support in all times of need and showing what the Spirit of a Sperry Pirate truly means.”
