A peaceful afternoon turned into a scene of tragedy on Thursday when Greg Guthro, a beloved member of the community, lost his life in a devastating motorcycle accident. The incident occurred around 2 p.m. on Wyman Street, involving a collision between a motorcycle and an SUV, sending shockwaves throughout the town.
Eyewitnesses recount the horrifying moment when Guthro’s motorcycle, traveling at speeds between 50 to 60 mph from the direction of Walnut Street, collided with a Jeep SUV. The impact was so severe that Guthro was launched off his motorcycle, landing in a nearby yard, while the motorcycle skidded over 100 feet down the road.
Witnesses immediately rushed to the scene, and a brave police officer, stationed further up the street, was the first to provide aid. With incredible courage, he administered chest compressions in an attempt to revive Guthro until medical professionals arrived. Despite the valiant efforts of the first responders and medical team, Greg Guthro succumbed to his injuries, leaving the community in shock and sorrow.
