Greg Barnhart Obituary: Resident of New Melle passes away aged 56

New Melle, Missouri – Gregory “Barney” Barnhart, known for his love of the outdoors and as an avid golfer, hunter, and fisherman, passed away on October 8, 2023, at the age of 56. He was born on October 9, 1966, in St. Louis, Missouri, to the late William R. Barnhart and Barbara Lee Fowler Barnhart.

Growing up on a farm in New Melle, Missouri, Barney cherished the outdoors and considered New Melle his true home. He attended Francis Howell High School and later pursued a career as a carpenter, becoming a valued member of the St. Louis Carpenter’s Union.

Barney is survived by his three children: Courtney Barnhart of Minnesota, Lindsey Barnhart of Troy, MO, and Stephen Barnhart of Silex, MO; as well as his sister Laurie Viviano and her husband, Lou, of Wentzville, and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Bryan Barnhart.

Barney’s memory lives on in the hearts of those who loved and admired him, remembering his passion for nature and the joy he found in every day.
