In a devastating incident on Thursday morning, a person lost their life after their car plunged from the fourth-story parking deck at Grandview Medical Center shortly before 7:30 a.m. The vehicle came to a rest on its roof, prompting an emergency response from Birmingham Fire & Rescue and Rocky Ridge Fire, who were called to the hospital around 8:30 a.m.

The accident occurred in the hospital’s staff entrance parking lot, raising questions about the victim’s connection to the medical center. BFRS Battalion Chief Clay Hendon, however, indicated uncertainty regarding the fatality victim’s employment status at the hospital.
