Gavin Vinstra of Kalamazoo, MI dies of injuries in a car accident

Kalamazoo, MI – A devastating incident unfolded on Stadium Drive in Kalamazoo, involving a three-vehicle collision that tragically took the lives of Audrey Hensley, 22, from Portage, Michigan, and her boyfriend, Gavin Vinstra. The collision, which occurred in the 3600 block of Stadium Drive, involved a trio of vehicles with a total of four occupants.

Emergency responders utilized car extrication equipment to free one of the individuals involved in the collision from their vehicle, as stated by officials. Audrey Hensley was among those involved and was swiftly rushed to a hospital for urgent medical attention following the crash. Despite medical efforts, she succumbed to her injuries.

Kelly Green Elder posted on Facebook,

“I need all my prayer worriors to lift up the family of Audrey Hensley, their beautiful daughter who was killed in a tragic accident in Kalamazoo MI just after Thanksgiving. She was my daughter Grace’s best friend since they met online picking freshman roommates for their journey together at MSU.“Her boyfriend of many years was also in the accident and I am asking you to pray for him as he is about to go back into surgery for the 3rd time. Tomorrow they have to fix pelvic fractures. His name is Gavin Vinstra and he has a lot of healing to do. Please pray for healing miracles.“Lift up his family in prayer, his doctors and caregivers need prayer too. Thank you. Hug your loved ones every chance you get”

Gavin Vinstra sustained severe injuries in the collision and was transported to the hospital in critical condition. Tragically, subsequent reports indicate that Gavin also passed away due to the injuries sustained in the crash.

The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety has indicated that excessive speed may have been a contributing factor in the collision.
