EduDeo Ministries Walking Together co-leader Sheila Dykstra dies suddenly: obituary

Hamilton, ON – Sheila Dykstra, a cherished Walking Together Co-Leader at EduDeo Ministries from Hamilton, Ontario, has passed away, leaving her family and friends in a state of deep shock. Her sudden demise was confirmed via a heartfelt Facebook post by the Education team of AMG Guatemala, expressing profound sorrow for the loss of Sheila Dykstra, the coordinator of EduDeo Ministries’ Walking Together program.

While the cause of her passing remains undisclosed, Dykstra’s journey was marked by significant educational and professional accomplishments. Between 1994 and 1998, she pursued and completed her Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education degrees in French Studies and Education at Redeemer University. In 2020, she furthered her studies, earning a Diploma in Teaching English as a Second or Foreign Language/ESL Language Instruction from the Canadian Centre for Language and Cultural Studies.

Her career unfolded across various educational realms. Dykstra dedicated two years and one month as a Classroom Teacher at the American International School of Abuja from June 2006 to June 2008. Subsequently, she served for an extensive eleven years and one month as a Christian Education Consultant for West Africa at Resonate Global Mission, contributing significantly from June 2008 to June 2019.

Transitioning back to the classroom, Dykstra spent one year and ten months as a Classroom Teacher at Calvin Christian School in Hamilton, teaching students in grades two and kindergarten from September 2020 to June 2022.
