College Station, TX – The St. Mary’s Catholic Center community is in mourning following the unexpected passing of one of its permanent parishioners, Ed McDonald. “The Aggie Catholic family experienced a tragic loss this past weekend.One of our permanent parishioners, Ed McDonald, passed away very unexpectedly. Originally from Rhode Island, Ed came to Texas A&M for grad school and was confirmed at St. Mary’s in 2006.Since that time, Ed had served the St. Mary’s community for the past 15 years as a leader of the RCIA and Confirmation Team where he guided countless students to encounter Jesus Christ in the sacraments just as he did. He was a model for all of us in the areas of hospitality, evangelization, and selfless service._______________

We will be celebrating a Mass of Remembrance for Ed this Friday at the 5:30pm Mass. Please join us in thanking God for the gift of Ed’s life to so many of us here at St. Mary’s.”

Born in Rhode Island, Ed found his spiritual home at St. Mary’s in 2006 when he relocated to Texas A&M for his graduate studies. Over the span of 15 years, Ed became an indispensable presence within the St. Mary’s community, dedicating his leadership skills to the RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) and Confirmation Team.
