Pittsburgh Steelers’ Dwayne Haskins was killed after being hit by a dump truck while trying to cross multiple lanes on a Florida highway: Hours before his death, the 24-year-old shared a mysterious post.
The tragic death of Dwayne Haskins continues to reverberate throughout the NFL and across the country. On April 9, the former quarterback was killed when he was hit by a dump truck while crossing a busy interstate highway in Broward County, Florida.

In the documents, investigators say that a witness told them a third vehicle may also be involved. Officials said Haskins succumbed to his injuries at the scene and was pronounced dead minutes after being attacked. Investigators said both drivers stopped shortly after hitting the soccer player. They also note in the document that neither the driver nor the driver was tested for alcohol or drugs. Officials in the documents do not disclose why they believe Haskins was walking along a busy highway before being hit – The final traffic homicide investigation is still pending.

Dwayne Haskins died on April 9, 2022. Haskins’ blood alcohol level was 0.20, according to the Broward County Medical Examiner’s Office, when he was killed on Interstate 595 near the National Airport Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood just before dawn.
Haskins, who turns 25 next month, was training with his team in South Florida when the fatal accident occurred early Saturday morning, his agent, Cedric Saunders, confirmed to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin confirmed the reports of Haskins’ passing and offered his condolences to Haskins’ loved ones.
“I am devastated and speechless at the unfortunate passing of Dwayne Haskins,” Tomlin said in a statement confirming his death.
‘He quickly became part of our Steelers family upon his arrival in Pittsburgh and is one of our hardest workers, both on the field and in our community.’
‘Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife, Kalabrya and his entire family during this difficult time.’
Dwayne is only 24 years old.
Kalabrya Haskins said in a 911 call that Dwayne had said he was walking to find gas after his car got stuck. She said on the frantic call, “I just want someone to come to the area and see if his car is there, is he okay and what’s happened to him.”
