Story of Dream Girl Movie
The protagonist of Dream Girl is a male who poses as a woman to support himself. Ayushmann Khurrana plays Karamvir, also known as Karm, a young man in Mathura who is actively seeking employment. He has a large loan from his father, Jagjeet (Annu Kapoor), who owns a store that sells funeral supplies. He has been harassed by the recovery agency for unpaid fees.
Locally, Karm is well-known for portraying female characters in plays, and Jagjeet despises this aspect of Karm. After a disappointing job interview, Karm runs across a job post for a call center one day as she is traveling home. When Karm arrives at the location, he is shocked to learn that it is a friendship club where ladies phone guys and engage in sexy conversation with them.
However, W Ji (Rajesh Sharma), the proprietor of this establishment, engages Karm after realizing that Karm can speak like a woman quite effectively. Karm is hired and changes into Pooja. Karm performs his job so well that W Ji pays him nicely and even gives him a car.
Karm begins to fall in love with Mahi (Nushrat Bharucha), and the two eventually become engaged. Karm realizes he no longer wants to be Pooja once he pays back his father’s loan and settles into life. W, however, warns Karm that he will reveal how he regularly seduces men by posing as Pooja to his father, Mahi, and everyone in the area.
Karm thus keeps working. He also realizes he is in for a bigger problem because four of his clients—Mahendar (Abhishek Banerjee), who also happens to be his future in-law, Toto (Raj Bhansali), Rajpal (Vijay Raaz), a cop-turned-shayar, and Roma (Nidhi Bisht), a woman-hating journalist—are madly in love with him, or should we say with Pooja. As if that weren’t enough, Karm’s father Jagjeet also approaches Pooja and expresses a desire to wed her. The remainder of the movie is based on what occurs next.
