A heart-wrenching incident unfolded in Danbury as authorities discovered the lifeless bodies of a 21-year-old woman and a 29-year-old man in an apartment on Griffing Avenue. Their deaths are suspected to be the result of a murder-suicide, with preliminary investigations indicating that the man fatally harmed the woman before taking his own life.
Responding to a crisis intervention call at 7:34 a.m. on November 20, Danbury Police Officers arrived at the location, where the situation was swiftly updated to a possible suicide. Prior to their arrival, the Fire Department and EMS had already accessed the apartment and found the deceased individuals.
Additionally, a toddler, seemingly unharmed, was present at the scene and was promptly taken to Danbury Hospital for assessment, although no apparent injuries were found during the examination.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner’s findings suggested that the man, identified as 29-year-old Dheraldy Caldeira, allegedly committed the heinous act, taking the life of the woman with a large kitchen knife before ending his own.
