Destiny Leiba tragically lost her life in a collision that occurred near the Aransas Pass exit. Reports indicate that her vehicle went airborne, colliding with a Ford SUV in a harrowing accident that took place around 2:49 p.m. on a Tuesday.
According to Texas Department of Public Safety Public Information Sgt. Harold “Rob” Mallory, Leiba, driving a 2017 Chevrolet Spark at a high speed, veered off the roadway while transitioning from the southbound flyover to State Hwy. 35. Despite her attempts to regain control, her car ended up in the median between the southbound and northbound lanes, causing it to become airborne.
The collision with a Ford SUV in the northbound lane resulted in Leiba’s vehicle rolling off the road. Despite prompt emergency response, Destiny Leiba succumbed to the injuries sustained in the crash.
Meanwhile, a 35-year-old woman and three children under 5, occupants of the SUV, were transported to a local hospital for treatment. Thankfully, they are expected to recover, offering a glimmer of hope amid this tragic event.
