Frederick, MD – Frederick community is mourning the tragic loss of Deeya Kumar, a cherished member of the community and a dedicated member of Old Line Performing Arts. Deeya, at the young age of 16, left a profound impact on those fortunate enough to have known her.
The heartbreaking news of Deeya Kumar’s passing was shared via a Facebook post on Monday, with Old Line Performing Arts expressing their deep sorrow at the loss of one of their charter color guard members. The circumstances surrounding her untimely death have not been disclosed at this time, leaving many in shock and grief.

The Governor Thomas Johnson High School Band shared their condolences, highlighting Deeya’s wonderful qualities as a student and a friend. She was a strong performer in the TJ Color Guard during the 2021 and 2022 seasons and will be remembered for her constant joy and ability to light up any room with her smile.
Deeya Kumar’s funeral arrangements are scheduled for Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at Stauffer Funeral Homes in Frederick, Maryland. The viewing will begin at 10 am, followed by a cremation, and a prayer session, allowing friends and family to pay their respects and bid a heartfelt farewell to this radiant soul.
