David Crosby, a renowned singer, guitarist and composer, passed away on Wednesday, January 18, at the age of 81. Crosby is best known as a founding member of the band. rock ‘Byrds’ and ‘Crosby, Stills, and Nash.’

Graham Nash, a musician, paid tribute to him on Facebook, writing:

“In both life and music, David is brave. He leaves a huge void of pure character and skill on our planet. Through his lovely music, he expressed his ideas, his heart and his passion, and he left an unforgettable legacy. These are the most important considerations. My heart goes out to his wife, Jan, his son, Django, and everyone he has come into contact with in this life.”

Randy Bachman, a guitarist and singer, also paid tribute to Crosby on Facebook, writing:

“David Crosby, rest in peace. When BTO was a “bar band”, I sang a lot of his tunes. I believe he is a great composer and am amazed at how he overcame adversity and continued to make music. Millions of people, including his loved ones, will miss him.”

The cause of David’s death has not yet been revealed and there are currently no preparations for a memorial service.

David Crosby has struggled with health problems in recent years.

David had a liver transplant in 1994 because he contracted hepatitis C. He was eventually diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes, which negatively affected his weight. The audience noticed his weight loss caused by the disease during a performance in 2008. To control his diabetes, he had to take insulin. In February 2014, Crosby had to have a cardiac catheterization and an angiogram. Doctors advised David to rest before returning to the stage to perform. He ended up canceling his gigs at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco and the Troubadour in Los Angeles, California.

David Crosby joined The Byrds in 1964 and worked with them on five albums. In 1968, he formed the folk rock band Crosby, Stills and Nash. Stephen Stills, Graham Nash and Neil Young are also members of CSN. Their first self-titled album was published in 1969 and peaked at number six on the Billboard 200 in the United States. They went on to create seven more albums and earned fame for their hits until 1999.
