News David Babaii
Babaii was most recently the global creative director of N:p Beautiful, an independent agency with a famous actress. Ten hair care products and three styling tools are part of this line, which has been acquired by Revolve, Target, HSN and Bloomingdale’s. While doing interviews for the 2018 release of N:p Beautiful, Babaii shed light on her clientele by telling Vogue, “They said David, you’re a bad boyfriend in Hollywood . You make us love you, but then you’re never available.
Before it became ubiquitous in the hair care sector, Babaii worked to ensure the ingredients in its products were pure and that no animals or the environment were harmed in the manufacturing process. 10% of sales from David Babaii for WildAid have been donated to the charity WildAid and its formulas are free of sulfates, parabens, and petrochemicals.
Babaii told Allure that while creating N:p Beautiful, “I went to locations — planes, boats, trains, a donkey — to see that it was supporting the community. I don’t want anyone to label me as ab****. I wanted it to be made with high-quality, sustainable ingredients. Like David Babaii for WildAid, N:p Beautiful donates 10% of sales to charities. It advocates the prevention of pancreatic cancer and the welfare of animals.
Babaii was born in Iran, grew up in the Los Angeles area, and revealed to Mane Addicts that as a child he stalked his mother at her salon, earned a degree in hotel management and worked as a beverage director at a chain Global luxury store. hotel before starting her career as a hair stylist.
In a 2016 interview with The Cut, Babaii stated that although the position of beverage director didn’t deserve it, he didn’t believe his parents would be “delicious” once he got into the hairdressing industry. “But my mom said, ‘Why don’t you start taking classes and get into it? Baba commented. He has decided to enroll in Sassoon Academy’s hairdressing program.
Hudson’s promoter, Brad Cafarelli, paved the way for Babaii to come to Hollywood. After cutting Cafarelli’s hair, he treated Hudson’s hair for the Golden Globes just two weeks after graduating from beauty school, earning him the title of “King of Curly” by the press. He quickly became a hairstylist for Peter Lindbergh’s photo shoots for Vogue Italia.
For the WildAid and N:p Beautiful campaigns, Babaii hired Lindbergh in place of David Babaii. At the popular salons Chris McMillan, Neil George and Sharon Dorram Color at Sally Hershberger Salon, Babaii worked for a short time. When Babaii joined the now-defunct Neil George in 2009, co-owner Neil Weisberg reiterated to Women’s Wear Daily that he had only worked with Babaii at Chris McMillan for four weeks due to Babaii’s schedule.
