He is one of the three original members of the rapper’s group The Fat Boys, which was created in the early 1980s. He formed a duo with rappers Darren Robinson (Buff Love) and Mark Anthony Morales (Prince Markie Dee). They were formerly known as The Disco 3 until changing their name to The Fat Boys in 1983. The band was established in 1982, dissolved in 1991, and then revived in 2008. The hip-hop group rose to national prominence after winning a talent contest, Radio City Music Hall, presented by Mr. Magic from the radio program Rap Attack in 1983. The members of The Fat Boys, then known as The Disco 3, were unexpected victors with their song ‘Stick’ Em.’ It was their first foray into mainstream hip-hop. They were also among the first rappers to adopt beatboxing in rap music. Furthermore, this trio was one of the first to release albums featuring full-length rap tracks.
Prince Markie Dee left the group in 1990 to pursue solo endeavors, including producing numerous early songs for Mariah Carey and Mary J. Blige.
