Courtney Perry, 23-year-old women, killed in Detroit car accident following collision with fallen tree

The Detroit community mourns the loss of 23-year-old Courtney Perry, a young woman known for her intelligence and warmth, following a harrowing hit-and-run car accident. The collision occurred at approximately 1:53 a.m. on October 6, 2023, on the 14100 Block of Seymour, leaving family and friends heartbroken and pleading for caution on the roads.

Courtney Perry was a passenger in a black Dodge Durango that collided with a fallen tree obstructing the roadway. Tragically, the driver fled the scene, leaving behind three critically injured passengers, including Courtney, who tragically passed away shortly after the collision.

As the Perry family prepares to release balloons in Courtney’s memory, they advocate for responsible driving and implore all drivers to exercise caution, emphasizing that speed is never worth risking lives.

The circumstances of the accident are under active investigation by the Detroit Police Department (DPD).
