This month, Netflix is launching a brand new food show, Cook at All Costs. The show’s new premise will allow participants to bid on materials and prepare delicious meals for celebrity guest judges. The first episode of Cook at All Costs, hosted by Jordan Andino, will air on Netflix on Friday, December 16, 2022, at 3:01 a.m. ET.
According to the official synopsis of the reality TV show:
“Cook everything.” Cost is a competitive Canadian culinary reality show in which three home chefs auction off ingredients to prepare meals to the delight of celebrity guest judges — and win money in their bankroll.”
It continues:
“This one-of-a-kind, high-auction-style culinary contest raises the question of whether expensive ingredients necessarily equal fine meals or whether simple ingredients can turn into a recipe for success.”
A group of celebrity chefs will appear on Cook at All Costs.
Three participants were offered $25,000 in the Cook at All Costs season 1 trailer. Their task was to bid on ingredients with the money they were offered. According to the theme of the program, participants should save money by replacing expensive ingredients with cheaper ones. Only time will tell whether chefs can turn ordinary ingredients into delicious meals or whether they need luxurious items to do so.
The narrator explains in the trailer:
“Three home cooks will have $25,000 in their bankroll and will have to auction all of their supplies in a high-profile, multi-person auction.” Home cooks can spend a lot of money on the best ingredients, save money on fundamentals, or take an unexpected opportunity. In the end, the winner walks away with all the money in their bank.”
Finally, the amount remaining after the bidding procedure will be sent to the winner’s account. Winners will be selected by a team of celebrity chefs, who will also be responsible for creating mysterious boxes filled with “ingredients of ingredients”.
Netflix show cast and crew
Chef Jordan Andino will head Cook at All Costs. The chef, who was born in Toronto, is a household name in the culinary world. Jordan has been on many food shows so this is not his first reality TV series. His website bio outlines the shows he has participated in.
It says:
“Besides hosting “Late Nite Eats” and Food Boats on Food Network/Cooking Channel, he is also a recurring judge on Food Network Canada’s “Jr Chef Showdown” and is in high demand for judging roles on popular shows like Chopped, Rachael Ray, The Today Show, Beat Bobby Flay, Worst Chef in America, Cooks vs. Cons and Recipe for Deception.”
Besides the famous hosts, the show also has a jury of famous chefs. According to the trailer, Nancy Silverton, Rick Martinez, Esther Choi, Richard Blais, Gabe Kennedy, Nyesha Arrington, Melissa Cookson and Melba Wilson are among the celebrity judges of Cook at All Costs.
The narrator stated when introducing the console in the trailer:
“The hottest names in the culinary world today call the back pantry home.” Mystery boxes, ingredient temptations and dish evaluations will be handled by these celebrity chefs.”
On December 16, 2022, all episodes of the Netflix culinary competition series will be published at once. Executive producers of Cook at All Costs include John Brunton, Eric Abboud, Erin Brock, and Chris Culvenor.
