Raised in Higginsville, he was an active child with a passion for sports. Excelling in full contact sports, Charlie’s athletic prowess shone through. His athletic talents extended to track and football, and he later earned a full scholarship to wrestle at Missouri Valley College. In adulthood, he continued his sports journey, playing semi-pro football for the Independence Militia in the Midwest Regional Football League.

Beyond the realm of sports, Charlie was an avid outdoorsman, finding solace in deer hunting adventures. He was a dedicated fan of the KC Chiefs and found joy in the wind on his face while riding his motorcycle. Known for his light-hearted humor, Charlie was a lovable person who never met a stranger and never held an enemy. He embraced life with open arms and was often described as a “giant teddy bear” by those who knew him well.
