Gqeberha, South Africa – The heart-wrenching news of a deadly shooting has left family and friends in mourning as they grapple with the loss of 18-year-old Paterson High School student, Chadwin Witbooi. The young and promising South African male was fatally shot in Schauderville in what police are investigating as a targeted incident.

The tragic incident unfolded on Monday night at approximately 9 pm, as Witbooi was returning home from studying. Police spokesperson Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg confirmed that he was gunned down in the vicinity. Following the shooting, Witbooi sought refuge in a yard on Jameson Road, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries upon arrival at the hospital.

“The police confirmed that Paterson High School pupil Chadwin Witbooi was fatally shot at about 9pm. Police spokesperson Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg said after the shooting, the deceased ran into a yard in Jameson Road, where he collapsed. The victim was rushed to hospital but passed away on arrival. She said no further information was available at this stage.”
