Tammy Willman, acknowledging Strube’s substantial contributions, highlighted his impactful tenure as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) and assistant professor, guiding numerous individuals through board preparation. His career was a testament to unwavering dedication in both military service and healthcare, leaving an enduring impression on the field of anesthesia.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Peter Strube was cherished for his generous heart and infectious laughter. His compassionate nature and genuine concern for others forged enduring connections and left an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to have crossed paths with him.
Peter D. Strube’s academic journey encompassed a master’s degree in anesthesia from St. Mary’s University in 2006, complemented by a CRNA certification. His educational foundation was laid at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, followed by the attainment of a Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia (DNAP) degree in June 2017, and an MBA in December 2020. Lieutenant Colonel Strube’s commitment to the Nurse Corps of the United States Army involved four deployments to conflict zones like Iraq and Afghanistan.
Currently serving as an assistant professor and assistant program director at Newman University, Peter also oversees Trollway Anesthesia, extending crucial coverage to several critical access hospitals. His scholarly publications, training initiatives, and international presentations underscore his commitment to advancing the field. Additionally, he dedicates efforts to anesthesia board tutoring for at-risk nurse anesthesia residents.
