Carole Cook, a famous actress, passed away on Wednesday, January 11, of heart failure at the age of 98. She is best known for her role as grandmother Helen in the 1984 comedy Sixteen Candles. On Facebook, comedian Scott Nevins paid tribute to her by posting a picture of him sitting next to her. Nevins wrote in the caption:
“I was delighted to be working with her and so glad she let me talk about how important ’42nd Street’ was to me as a young adult watching my first Broadway show. . Carole, rest now.
J William McDaniel, a musician, also shared his sadness on Facebook, saying Cook was a man of natural strength, a remarkable and skilled performer, and a friend. He expressed gratitude for the opportunity to introduce and accompany her at O’Neill in 2019. The message went on to say,
“We have worked together many times over the years and I am happy for each of them. I am a much better person for knowing her. Get some rest, diva. “I admire you.”
Cook’s stepson Christopher, wife Becky, sister Regina and nieces survived her. Donations can be made in her honor to the Recreation Community Foundation.

Carole Cook is best known for her roles in films, television series, and plays.
The actress, also known as Mildred Frances Cook, graduated from Baylor University with a degree in Greek theatre. She previously worked in theatre, and made her stage debut in 1956 as Mrs Peacham in The Threepenny Opera.
She went on to appear in many additional plays, including Hello, Dolly!, Stop the World – I Want to Get Off, Father’s Day, Romantic Comedy, 42nd Street, Supporting Cast, Steel Magnolias, Dress Up , The Lion in Winter, The Retired Lady, Radio Gals, 70, Girls 70 and Follies. Carole Cook made her television debut as Mrs. Parker/Nurse on the US Marshal from 1959 to 1960. She is especially known for her role in 18 episodes of the CBS comedy series The Lucy Show. From October 1, 1962 to March 11, 1968, the show aired 156 episodes for six seasons.
Cook went on to appear in a number of other television shows, including Kentucky Jones, Daniel Boone, Sarge, Maude, Emergency!, Charlie’s Angels, Knight Rider, The Love Boat, Strip Mall, Grey’s Anatomy, and others. .
Carole’s film career began in 1963 with the comedy Palm Springs Weekend, in which she played Naomi Yates. She then played Bessie Limpet in The Incredible Mr. Limpet, a 1964 comedy. The film, directed by Arthur Lubin, received generally positive reviews and stars Don Knotts, Jack Weston, Andrew Duggan, Larry Keating and others.
