Mulligan and Marcus Mumford first met when she was 12 years old, according to Vogue. While the couple kept their relationship private, the 35-year-old artist said they met at a Christian youth camp and later became close friends.
Mumford commented in an interview with GQ Magazine:
“There’s a picture of us during our first summer together, and I have bleached blonde hair.”
They lost contact, but Carey Mulligan confessed to The Telegraph (via Bustle) that she kept those letters in her heart.
