Brittany Forsythe and Corey Wetmore killed in fatal car accident in Pemberton

Pemberton, NJ – Pemberton Township, New Jersey, was shaken by a devastating motor vehicle accident that claimed the lives of Brittany Forsythe and Corey Wetmore. The collision occurred around 12:30 p.m. at the intersection of the Pemberton Bypass and Colemans Bridge Road, involving two vehicles. Forsythe and Wetmore tragically lost their lives at the scene, while another individual was airlifted to Cooper University Hospital in Camden.

Authorities are actively investigating the cause of this fatal collision, seeking to unravel the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.

Meanwhile, in a separate sobering incident, Wanda Sprague, 55, of Pemberton, faced the consequences of driving under the influence of alcohol. Testifying in court on Wednesday, Sprague admitted to having no recollection of driving over 90 miles per hour and crashing into a Nissan Sentra driven by Kayla Bowen, resulting in Bowen’s tragic death. Bowen was a passenger in the vehicle at the time of the collision.

“My life will never be the same, recieved the news this morning my beautiful grandaughter Brittany Forsythe was killed in a bad car accident last night ! It seems like a really bad dream , i just want to wake up and have my sweet little Britt back !!”

Sprague pleaded guilty to charges of drunk driving and aggravated manslaughter, reaching a plea deal that will see her sentenced to eight years in state prison. The sentencing has been scheduled for November 16th.

The incident, which occurred on December 16, 2021, brought Pemberton police to the intersection of Lakehurst Road and Rancocas Lane after reports of a collision. Tragically, Bowen, a Brown Mills resident, was found deceased at the accident site.

Sprague’s blood alcohol concentration (BAC) was nearly .19, more than twice the legal limit. Investigations revealed she had been drinking at a pub located approximately three kilometers from the collision site. Moreover, it was found that Sprague was driving her Chrysler 300 without its headlights on at the time of the collision, adding to the gravity of the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident.
