Early in the 1980s, Walsh started his career in television by working as a publicist for the Seven Network. He started working with Foxtel in 1995 as the director of programming, PR, and promotions. He played a key role in Foxtel’s establishment and the creation of its schedule of programs.
Walsh at Foxtel received a promotion in 2000 to executive director of television.
