Brian Holtzman Wikipedia, Standup, Tour, Comedy, Wiki – In 1988, I started performing stand in the Northern California Bay Area. In 1989, I moved to the Comedy Store in Hollywood, California, from the Bay Area. I had to wait 5 years to get a regular paying job.

I’ve been there since 1994. The one and only Mitzi Shore personally chose me. As the last performer today, I close the Main Room on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. People have compared my sense of humor to Sam Kinison, Lenny Bruce and Woody Allen.
Honestly, my humor may not be for everyone, but it’s certainly for those who enjoy using their critical thinking skills and aren’t easily offended. I have never felt the need to quit my day job thanks to the great care and access to the stand-up comedy scene. For reasons I didn’t want to come in here, I quit my day job and went out immediately to find a new job. It’s pretty obvious how it works if you’ve seen my show.
At the beginning of the new millennium, I made a guest appearance on “My Wife and Kids”. Damon Wayans starred in this TV show, which I thought was very engaging and gratifying to be in. I’ve always wanted to appear on TV while doing a normal job. Why not do both if you can do both? Always prefer steak sandwiches over bologna. Any day more than bologna bread, I choose steak sandwich. I found it socially and personally ugly to be a comic failure in the mid to late years of my life.
Finally, I must say that Comedy Store spoiled me a lot. I’m on the street. Why do I have to travel and risk rejection when I can face it every night in my bed while facing an audience in my own town? In “A Few Good People,” Jack Nicolson notes that some people cannot or cannot bear the truth.
My hobbies also include bonsai, pro wrestling, barefoot riding, and long beach walks. Bingo and toast with peanut butter and jelly are acceptable.
