Mr. Brett Young
Brett Young is an Orange County, California-born country pop singer, guitarist, and songwriter. He was a collegiate baseball pitcher who changed careers after suffering an elbow injury while playing for Fresno State in 2003. Young began singing in the band’s high school in the late 1990s when he took over for an absent leader. After hearing Gavin DeGraw’s album Chariot, he felt motivated to sing. Jeremy Steele, a singer/songwriter, also influenced him. Young chose to return to music as a result of their influence.
Young has seven straight No. 1 hit singles, as well as multi-Platinum sales. Fans like his songs Sleep Without You and In Case You Didn’t Know, as well as his albums Ticket to L.A. and Weekends Look a Little Different These Days.
According to his official website, brettyoungmusic.com, the singer’s full name is:
“ASCAP’s 2018 Country Songwriter-Artist of the Year” (Billboard) and has received nominations from ACM, Billboard, Teen Choice, CMT, and CMA Awards.”
He is married to his girlfriend Taylor Mills and the father of two girls.
Ashley Cooke is a country singer-songwriter noted for her honest and real narrative in her songs. She grew up between the California and Florida coastlines. After hearing songs by Jason Aldean, Florida Georgia, Taylor Swift, and Rascal Flatts in high school, she got interested in country music. She began “performing music and creating songs” at the age of 11 and lived in 19 different houses before becoming 18 years old. She remarked about her path to Countryswag.com:
“Music was the one consistency I had while traveling around all the time.” I began creating songs as a coping strategy, and I’ve always enjoyed poetry. […] I began composing poetry in diaries and became preoccupied with lyrics, rhymes, rhyming, and that kind of thing.”
Cooke studied communications and marketing at Belmont University, where she won the Country Showcase competition. Her victory put her in an exclusive group of victors that included Florida Georgia Line’s Tyler Hubbard, Brad Paisley, Chris Young, and others. Cooke launched her first album, Already Drank That Beer, Side A, in August 2021, and it quickly became a fan favorite. The country artists are getting ready to perform their songs on The Bachelorette season 19. Watch their appearance on the program on Monday at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
