The community of McCreary, Kentucky, is reeling from the sudden and tragic passing of Braxton Kidd, a dedicated Bureau of Prisons Correctional Officer. The 33-year-old lost his life in a devastating motorcycle accident that occurred on October 29 at the intersection of KY-92 and Pleasant Run Church Hill Road in McCreary County. State troopers from Post 11 swiftly responded to the scene around 2:40 in the afternoon.

Braxton Kidd was riding his 2006 Harley Davidson motorbike eastbound on KY-92 when the vehicle veered off the road’s right shoulder, colliding with a guardrail and subsequently ejecting him from the motorcycle. Despite immediate medical attention from the McCreary County Emergency Medical Services, he was transported to Big South Fork Hospital in Tennessee, where he was pronounced deceased upon arrival, as confirmed by the troopers.
Dwain Paul Garrett, a fellow community member and a graduate of Cowan High School, expressed his grief on social media, reflecting on the deep bond he shared with Braxton Kidd. Recalling a time when Kidd offered unwavering support during a challenging period, Garrett’s touching tribute serves as a testament to Kidd’s compassionate and supportive nature.
