Both Matthew Kreamer West Islip and brother Kyle Dilegame dead, parents injured in house fire

The West Islip community is reeling from the devastating loss of two brothers, 24-year-old Matthew Kreamer and 16-year-old Kyle Dilegame, in a harrowing house fire on Udall Road. The tragic incident unfolded early Saturday morning, with firefighters responding to a distressing scene as flames engulfed the first and second floors of the residence.

Despite the valiant efforts of the firefighters, the two brothers could not be saved, succumbing to their injuries at the scene. Their parents, who were also inside the house, sustained severe burns and smoke inhalation and were swiftly taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. While they are expected to recover, the entire community stands in solidarity with them during this difficult time.

The absence of functional smoke detectors in the house, still under investigation, has raised concerns and highlights the critical importance of fire safety measures in every household. The community has rallied together, with neighbors visiting the site to offer flowers and prayers in memory of the beloved brothers.
