Following the company’s announcement that it would lay off 7,000 employees and reduce costs by $5.5 billion as part of a larger reorganization, CEO Bob Iger appeared on the show “Squawk.” on the Street” by CNBC on Thursday.

Disney’s streaming plans and making the company profitable top the list, Iger said on Thursday. In his words, streaming is “the future”.

After Iger’s interview, Peltz called CNBC to announce that the proxy war between the two sides was over. Disney also said it would stop providing guidance on subscriber counts and instead focus on making the streaming business profitable by the end of 2024.
Iger stated on Thursday that “we might be intoxicated by our own side growth,” referring to Disney+’s starting price of $6.99.
