Beloved father Ryan Larson passes away in Old Lyme: Obituary

The community of Old Lyme, Connecticut, is mourning the loss of Ryan Larson, a beloved father who passed away on Tuesday morning, December 12, 2023. Ryan fell ill on Monday and left behind a legacy of kindness and joy. His departure was announced through a heartfelt social media post, expressing deep sorrow and remembering the laughs shared with him.

Ryan Larson was a graduate of the Lyme-Old Lyme class of 2005. His talent as a singer was showcased in The Select Singers, participating in several musicals and leaving a lasting impact. He pursued his RN degree at Goodwin College, where he thrived and became a respected leader in the Nursing program. As a Peer tutor at the ASC, he formed close connections that felt like family, establishing lasting professional relationships.

In his role as an RN, Ryan demonstrated capability and a laid-back demeanor. His ability to excel in whatever he pursued made him a valued individual. Beyond his professional achievements, Ryan was a loving father to Emily and Annabelle and a loyal friend. Known for his kindness, sense of humor, and ability to comfort others, he was a great listener who turned the harshest realities into manageable challenges with his pleasant smile and attentive ear.

To support Ryan Larson’s family during this difficult time, a fundraising campaign has been initiated by Kimberly Thompson on behalf of Kelly McKiernan. The campaign aims to raise $10,000 to assist Emily, Annabelle, and their mother, Kelly, as they navigate the challenges ahead. The outpouring of love and contributions from friends, family, and the community reflects the impact that Ryan had on the lives of those around him.
