Bayonne women Stephanie Weymouth pronounced dead in Jersey city car crash

In an overnight tragedy in Jersey City, a 31-year-old Bayonne woman, Stephanie Weymouth, lost her life while two others suffered non-life-threatening injuries in a collision involving a parked tractor-trailer. The incident occurred around 12:20 a.m. on Route 185 and Linden Avenue on Saturday, Feb. 3, according to Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez.

Weymouth was a passenger in a 2019 Nissan that collided with the rear of the parked tractor-trailer. Sadly, she was pronounced dead just after 1 a.m. The 28-year-old driver from Staten Island and a 27-year-old passenger from Old Bridge were treated at Jersey City Medical Center for their injuries and later released.

The Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit, in collaboration with the Jersey City Police Department, is actively investigating the incident. As of now, no arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.

This tragic accident occurred when the Nissan struck the unoccupied tractor-trailer on Route 185 near the Linden Avenue East intersection. The authorities are urging anyone with information to contact the Office of the Hudson County Prosecutor at 201-915-1345.
