Aspen Walker Obituary: Daughter of Darryl and Shelia dies at 25, leaving behind a 5-year-old kid

Anderson, Indiana – The Anderson community is mourning the untimely passing of Aspen Elise Walker, a cherished daughter, sister, and mother, who left this world on November 4, 2023, at the age of 25. Born on October 13, 1998, in Anderson, Aspen was the beloved child of Darryl and Shelia Walker.

Aspen was not just a daughter and a sister but also a devoted mother to her 5-year-old daughter, Briar Kumkoski. Her love for family was evident in the close bonds she shared with her parents, Darryl and Shelia, and her brother, Mason Walker.

Known for her vibrant spirit, Aspen found joy in spending time with friends and attending concerts. She brought a sweet voice, determination, and love into the lives of those around her, leaving a lasting impact on everyone she encountered.

The Walker family has announced funeral services to celebrate Aspen’s life. The service will take place on Friday, November 10, 2023, at 1:00 P.M. at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, located at 200 W. 53rd Street, Anderson. Jim Harrison will officiate the service, and visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

The final resting place for Aspen will be in Anderson Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be made to Dove Harbor Transitional Housing Ministry, located at 1400 N. Broadway, Anderson, IN 46012.

As the community mourns Aspen’s loss, heartfelt condolences and messages of support have poured in. Lisa Davis Reels, a family member, shared her grief, urging others to keep Aspen’s parents, Shelia and Darryl Walker, in their prayers. She fondly remembered Aspen for her beauty, sweet voice, determination, and love for her daughter Briar.
