Anna Bosma, 22-year-old women, from Sioux Falls, South Dakota dies in accident near UNO campus

In a heart-wrenching incident that occurred on the evening of Friday, September 1st, 2023, a multi-vehicle accident unfolded at the intersection of 62nd and Dodge Streets in Omaha, resulting in the untimely loss of 22-year-old Anna Bosma, a resident of Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

The Omaha Police Department responded to a distress call at 10:29 p.m. that evening, reporting a multi-vehicle collision at the aforementioned intersection. Upon arriving at the scene, the Omaha Fire Department tragically confirmed the passing of Anna Bosma. The initial investigation, combined with witness accounts, shed light on the sequence of events leading to this devastating accident.

According to reports, a black 2019 Mercedes, driven by 61-year-old Mark Carlson, and a separate black 2014 Buick Encore, operated by 26-year-old Cameron Robinson, were both traveling westward on Dodge Street at a high rate of speed. Regrettably, the Mercedes driven by Carlson lost control, veering into the eastbound lanes, where it collided with a red 2015 Chevrolet Cruze, which Anna Bosma was driving at the time. William Story, a 23-year-old resident of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and a passenger in the Cruze, was transported to UNMC by the Omaha Fire Department for medical attention.

As a result of the accident, Dodge Street was closed in both directions until 5:45 a.m. the following morning. Currently, an ongoing investigation is in progress, and charges are pending as authorities diligently work to uncover the full circumstances surrounding this heartbreaking incident.
