Angelo Badalamenti, a famous composer, passed away on Sunday, December 11, at the age of 85. He is best known for his movies and TV shows such as Law and Disorder, Hard Boys Who Don’t Dance, Wild Heart, Lost Highway, Stalingrad, and Twin Peaks, among many others.
Angelo’s grandson paid tribute to him on social media, tweeting a photo and praising his efforts with the caption:
“A great musical and aesthetic inspiration for me and many others. He never left North Jersey for Los Angeles, staying true to his background and family. Not to mention the random but amazingly true anecdotes of his life that he never gets tired of telling. Many people will miss him.”
Angelo died of natural causes at his home in Lincoln Park, New Jersey, where he lived at the time of his death. Currently, the composer is surrounded by family members.

Angelo Badalamenti, born March 22, 1937, became a pianist at an early age. He performed several times and completed his studies at the Manhattan School of Music. He was recruited as the soundtrack to David Lynch’s 1986 mystery thriller Blue Velvet shortly after starting his business career. The soundtrack received rave reviews and was included in Entertainment Weekly’s list of the 100 Best Soundtracks. Angelo again collaborated with David on the ABC soap opera Twin Peaks and was praised for his work on the theme tune, which later won a Grammy Award for ‘Best Pop Instrumental Performance’ for his efforts.
David has previously stated that they discussed a certain script and then made the music for it when talking about his experience working with the composer. The filmmaker also said that they composed some of the music on the piano themselves and that Angelo was the reason why he learned so much about music. Angelo’s other credits include A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors, Wild at Heart, The Straight Story, Naked in New York, The Wicker Man, Secretary, Dominion: Prequel to the Exorcist, The Edge of Love, etc.
Angelo Badalamenti is famous for his collaborations with many musicians. He has contributed to albums such as The In Sound of Way Out!, A Secret Life, Sound of White Noise, and others. The late composer received several awards, including a Grammy and a Saturn Award. In 2008, he received the World Soundtrack Awards Lifetime Achievement Award. Angelo Badalamenti’s wife, Lonny, and their two children survived him. Since 1968, the couple has been married.
