Angela Jacobs, a WFTV anchor, and reporter died on Tuesday, July 19, 2022, after a lengthy fight with metastatic breast cancer. Her coworkers at WFTV verified the story. On social media, anchor Nancy Alvarez paid respect to Jacobs, writing,
“She waged a strong, dignified battle against breast cancer, often concealing painful times behind her beautiful, brilliant grin.”
Shannon Butler, Angela’s coworker, and friend claimed that she was devoted to her family and friends. Butler went on to say that Jacobs only spoke about her disease to assist others and focused on her life because she wanted to live it to the fullest.
All About Angela Jacobs
According to her WFTV biography, Angela Jacobs just graduated from the University of South Carolina. She subsequently went on to get her master’s degree at the University of Missouri. She was into athletics and enjoyed traveling. Jacobs began her career as a journalist on Fox Sports in 2008, where she was a contributing reporter for the Rays and Lighting coverage in Florida. She garnered two regional Emmys and several other honors for her sports journalistic work at WSTP in Tampa Bay during a nine-year period.
In 2013, she began working for WFTV as a general assignment reporter for Eyewitness News. She rose to prominence after reporting the tale of a lady who sued a hospital, alleging that she was molested as a patient. In 2015, Jacobs broke the story of a lady being pursued by her ex-boyfriend, and the stalker was ultimately arrested. The episode also prompted regional politicians to investigate the state of online stalking in Florida.
Breast Cancer
Angela revealed her breast cancer diagnosis in 2020. She admitted to having 56 treatments in five weeks, as well as four procedures, which resulted in considerable hair loss. She made a partial recovery after a two-year battle. However, she was diagnosed with cancer again in 2020 and received chemotherapy as well as experimental therapies.
Along with Vanessa Echols and Nancy Alvarez, she was a breast cancer survivor advocate. In 2021, she co-hosted a 30-minute episode called Hope and Healing on WFTV, recounting her battle with cancer in 2020. Jacobs’ mother survived breast cancer. Despite her celebrity, Angela did not have a Wikipedia page, therefore more information is unknown. Her age at the time of death is unclear, however, she was probably between 40 and 50 years old.
