Puddicombe returned to Russia after finishing a one-year meditation program in Scotland, where he spent four years studying meditation in Moscow. He left his monastic commitment after four years. In 2004, he returned to the UK to study Circus Arts in London. At the same time, he started his own meditation practice in town. Through his own practice, Andy has strived to make meditation and mindfulness accessible, meaningful, and useful to as many people as possible.
Puddicombe founded a private meditation practice in 2006 and worked as a mindfulness teacher for the next four years. He also applies terms and processes that he previously learned. He met Rich Pierson, his future business partner and co-founder of Headspace at the time.
