Cavan, Ireland – A family from Cavan is living a nightmare after their 17-year-old daughter, Amber Victoria Palm, disappeared during a vacation to Paris last month. Her parents, along with her younger brother, had been enjoying a trip to Coupvrey, France, where they were staying at Disney’s Hotel Sante Fe before the unthinkable happened on August 7.
Amber is believed to be in the company of a 17-year-old boy, someone she had been communicating with online for several weeks before her sudden disappearance. Her mother, Mactalene, spoke to The Celt, expressing the family’s anguish, “We’re trying to stay strong, but it has been incredibly difficult. Amber and I were close. I just need to know she’s safe. She’s my baby girl, but she’s still a minor.”
The case of the missing Amber Victoria Palm remains unsolved, and authorities are tirelessly searching for her whereabouts. Mactalene recounted the last ordinary evening before Amber’s disappearance. While Amber and her younger brother stayed at the hotel, her parents went to Disneyland to witness the evening light parade.
“When we returned, they were both in the room, watching TV on their phones. Amber asked about our plans for the next day,” Mactalene said.
The family decided to turn in early, planning to wake up early, have breakfast, and return to the hotel by 2 p.m. to catch the shuttle bus back to the airport for their journey to Ireland. However, Dennis, Amber’s father, woke up around 3 a.m., feeling unwell. He noticed the bathroom door was closed and assumed his daughter was inside.
Mactalene continued the story, “I went to knock on the bathroom door to ask her how much longer she would be. I rang the doorbell, but there was no response. When I opened the door, she was gone.”
Panicked, the family began searching the hotel but could not find Amber. Mactalene went to a nearby gas station to see if Amber had gone there, but there was no sign of her.
In a heartbreaking twist, police have informed the family that Amber Victoria Palm, who disappeared on August 10th, could now be “anywhere in the Schengen area.” The Palm family, originally from South Africa, relocated to County Cavan in March of the previous year, making the search for their missing daughter even more challenging.
Amber’s mother, Mactalene, appeared on Lunchtime Live, where she shared her feelings of helplessness, as Amber Victoria has not been heard from since August 10th, leaving her family desperately longing for answers.
