According to a statement released Wednesday by Vice Principal for Intercollegiate Athletics Keith Carter, Ole Miss has beefed up her athletics management by hiring Allen Greene, the former athletic director at Auburn and Buffalo, as the new Senior Vice President of Sports/Foreign Relations and Business Development. .
Greene, who was Carter’s colleague and assistant director of athletic development at the Ole Miss Athletics Foundation from 2009 to 2012, has returned to Oxford. In his new position, Greene will manage the division’s external operations, serve as Rebels chief executive officer, and continue to oversee the athletics operations of the football program.
Carter said, “We are extremely excited to have Allen’s leadership join our team. “Recalling our time together at OMAF, I can attest that Allen was a man and a leader. He has all the qualities you would expect in his administration. His extensive knowledge will benefit our faculty and we are delighted to welcome his family back to Oxford.”

Before resigning in August, Greene served as Auburn’s 15th athletics director for five seasons. He is considered a dynamic and vivacious leader. Men’s and women’s golf teams have reached the national semifinals a total of three times, and the AU equestrian program has won two national titles.

The $92 million, 233,000 square foot soccer performance center was built during Greene’s time at Auburn, part of a $175 million investment in basic infrastructure. The new building, which is the largest capital structure in Auburn Athletics history, features two of the four largest single donations in the program’s history.
