The Perth community is reeling from the tragic loss of Alice McShera, a well-respected and admired Family Court lawyer, whose life was cut short at the Crown Towers hotel in the Burswood entertainment complex. At 11:10 a.m. on Monday, the 34-year-old was discovered unconscious, and despite efforts to save her, she could not be revived.

The incident led to the arrest of Cameron John Pearson, who was charged with one count of murder at Perth Magistrates Court on Tuesday. The solemn courtroom was filled with members of the legal community and those impacted by the devastating event. The accused, Pearson, remained silent during the proceedings. It was revealed that McShera was Pearson’s girlfriend.

Alice McShera, stationed at Murray Chambers in Perth’s central business district, was a highly regarded member of the legal community, with over ten years of experience as an advocate and barrister specializing in Family Court cases. Prior to her barrister role, she served as an associate to a WA Family Court judge and had made notable appearances in the WA Supreme Court and Magistrates Court.
